July-15-10 ITMA 2011 to Promote Sustainable Solutions And Ideas
at Major Research And Education Pavilion

World's leading research centres and educational institutes invited to showcase their projects and programmes, and to explore collaboration with the private sector.
ITMA, the world's largest and most established textile machinery exhibition, has put a bigger spotlight on research and development, as well as education and training; a pavilion will be organised for research institutes and higher institutions of learning to showcase their projects, capabilities and programmes.
The Research & Education (R&E) pavilion will be a major feature at next year's ITMA exhibition, which will be held at the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via venue in Barcelona, Spain from 22 to 29 September 2011. It is one of a range of initiatives by the show owner, CEMATEX, to ensure the sustainable development of the textile and garment industry.
According to Jeroen Vits, Secretary General of SYMATEX (Belgium) and Chairman of the ITMA 2011 R&E Committee, the key to creating the industry's sustainable development is through research and development, and education and training.

JUKI Corporation (Head office: Tama-shi, Tokyo, Japan) has recently announced that Mr. Akira Kiyohara took office as president of JUKI at shareholders' meeting which was held on June 25.
The human issues in this time was carried out to measure management's rejuvenation to innovate the management team on the severe management environment.
Mr. Kiyohara joined JUKI in May, 2009. Further, he assumed Senior Managing Director (CFO, CAO, CCO) in June 2009. And, Mr. Kiyohara took office as president in June 2010. Age: 59 years old.
Mr. Nakamura assumed Chairman, and Mr. Yamaoka took office as the supreme advisor respectively.

June-11-10 BROTHER Won "iF Communication Design Award 2010"

Brother Industries, Ltd. (President: Mr. Toshikazu Koike, Head office: Nagoya, Japan) has won a German International award "iF Communication Design Award 2010" (hereinafter iF communication design award) on the control panel designed for "Innov-is I". It is Brother's high-end sewing machines with embroidery capabilities.
The iF communication design award is hosted and judged by the iF-International Forum Design Hannover in Germany. This is one of the most authorized international design competitions which select the best graphic and user interface designs.
Brother already received "iF Product Design Award" on its products such as "Innov-is I", for its exterior appearance. However, this is the first time for Brother to win "iF communication design award" which competes in design of user interface.

The positive spirit of the new PFAFF Industrial can be felt in every corner of the new production halls. Manufacturing is unrecognizable when compared with "old PFAFF". Production potentials are used to full capacity and in some departments there are even two or three shifts at work. Within 12 months, the workforce has increased by approx. 100 employees.

China Sewing Machinery Association (CSMA) has held 5th Session of the 8th Council in Xi'an on April 14. The 111 enterprises' representatives attended the meeting.
At the meeting, on behalf of CSMA, Tian Minyu, President of China Sewing Machinery Association gave a speech titled as "Steadfast Confidence, Scientific Planning, Welcome a New Spring in the Industry" fully looking back to the industrial development status during the 11th Five-Year Plan for overall planning and deployment of focal tasks of the industry in the 12th Five-Year Plan so as to propose to define the year 2010 as the "Year of Scientific Planning".

Exhibitors Present Machines And Processes for The Garment And Textile Manufacturing Industries

Next year, the garment and textile manufacturing industries will get together in Frankfurt am Main for the first Texprocess, Leading International Trade Fair for Processing Textile and Flexible Materials.
Altogether, around 500 exhibitors are expected to present their innovations for the entire textile value chain at Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre from 24 to 27 May 2011. Texprocess will be held parallel to Techtextil, International Trade Fair for Technical Textiles and Nonwovens. The conceptual partner of Texprocess is VDMA Garment and Leather Technology.

May-10-10 VDMA: Upward Trend of Textile Machinery Industry Ahead of ITMA ASIA + CITME 2010

Just in time before the leading trade fair in Asia, ITMA ASIA + CITME 2010, which will open its doors end of June in Shanghai, the economical sky for the textile machinery industry finally brightened again. Incoming orders where 130 percent above the result of the first quarter of the year before. VDMA Textile Machinery Association predicts an increase in sales volume of 30 to 35 percent compared to 2009.
"After two extremely difficult years, the German textile ma-chinery manufacturers are guardedly optimistic for the future" explains Fritz P. Mayer, Chairman of the Textile Machinery Association and Managing Partner of Karl Mayer Textilmaschinenfabrik GmbH.

March-02-10 Walser GmbH Trusts in PFAFF's Docu-seam Technology for Safety-Relevant Seams

The Austrian global market leader for car seat covers, with production facilities in Indonesia and China, is using high-tech solutions from PFAFF for its production activities. Walser has invested in several new PFAFF docu-seam systems from the 3741 and 3745 series for the creation of side airbag seams in car seat covers. The Kaiserslautern-based manufacturer of industrial sewing solutions is the technological leader in this segment.
The PFAFF quality assurance systems were designed for use with safety-relevant seams. PFAFF docu-seam systems play an important role in terms of safety when driving. In the 3741 and the 3745, PFAFF has developed two systems that use measuring technology to record, analyse and document process parameters 'stitch by stitch' during the sewing process. The result is an assessment of the seam quality as good or bad on the basis of the pre-defined threshold values. The data is automatically stored in a database in which all important process parameters are saved. At the same time, a label with clear text and a barcode is printed on detailed.
