Export of Japan-made Industrial Sewers for Jan. ~ Jun. 2007 Recorded 167,000 Units

Decreasing 25% in Quantity Compared with The Same Period of The Previous Year

As regards the export of Japan-made industrial sewing machine for the first half of the year from January to June, 2007, JASMA (Japan Sewing Machinery Manufacturers Association) released the quantity which compiled the Customs Clearance Statistics by Customs and Tariff Bureau of the Finance Ministry.
According to the information, it recorded 167,000 units showing decrease of 25% in quantity compared with the same period of the previous year.
The breakdown of the export quantity of the industrial sewing machines are as follows;
Single needle straight sewer for fabrics recorded 59,600 units showing drastic decrease of 31.7% and for other materials recorded 5,400 units showing decrease of 22.2% compared with the last year.
Overlock machine recorded 15,200 units showing decrease of 25.9%, compared with the previous year, and other special machine recorded 87,000 units showing decrease of 20.2% compared with the preceding year.
Total 10,367 million yen worth of parts for industrial sewing machine were exported showing increase of 13% compared with the previous year.
