Export Statistics for China-made Industrial Sewing Machine for Jan. - Dec. 2008

Recorded 2,666,000 Units, Decreasing 0.5%, 140,000 Units
Compared with The Same Period of The Preceding Year

According to the Chinese Customs Clearance Statistics for January - December 2008, the export of China-made all types of industrial sewing machine (Including automated sewing machine) for the whole world recorded 2,666,000 units, decreasing 0.5%, 140,000 units compared with the same period of the preceding year.
The sales of the industrial sewing machine in the domestic market in last year drastically fell due to the depression of U.S.A. It is caused that the consumption extremely got cold drastically, and the orders of the apparel goods and leather goods to China decreased remarkably by the influence of the breakdown of economy in U.S.A.
Therefore, the production of sewing machine at each Chinese manufacturers in last year a little bit decreases compared with 2007. At the same time, the produced sewing machine of each manufacturer must depend on export. Accordingly, the export from China to the world's market recorded decreases of 5.8%.
The first was Brazil, and it is recorded 361,000 units, showing drastic increases of 44.5% compared with the last year.
In last year, Brazilian currency was around 2.0 - 2.3 Real for US$1. In this circumstances, it became the result by which the low price products are liked since last year. Therefore, it can consider that the demand of China-made sewing machine became the reason for which it is expanded drastically.
