GENYOSHA CO., LTD. is
the publisher of the "SewTradeTM". And it
is the English edition for information of the industrial and household
sewing machine.
The company was established in 1951. Then, "Japan Sewing
Machine Trade News" which was the direct ancestor of "SewTrade"
in March 1951, started.
World War II ended in 1945, and Japan in those
days lost all industry and talented people for the defeat.
In those conditions, future's Japan put the power in the trade
with the foreign countries, and the condition which earns the
foreign currency was national policy .
Our company published the English magazine of the
household sewing machine for the foreign countries by the request
from MITI (The Ministry of International Foreign Affairs) at the
time.
At that time, "Japan Sewing Machine Trade News" is put
on the Japanese Embassy in the world, and it was very useful for
the dealer of the foreign countries which is looking for information
for the Japanese products.
When it entered in the 1960's, Japanese sewing
machine industry reached the age of prosperity of household sewing
machine.
For a period of time, the sewing machine manufacturer exceeded
60 companies, and that production number was over 4 million units
in a year.
When it entered in the 1970's, a lot of manufacturers
of household sewing machine was weeded out. As a result, only
the manufacturer who really had the power was remained.
In this time, the production of industrial sewing machine becomes
active, and that development is continuing gradually. Then, Japan
grew as a supplying country of the industrial sewing machine.
In the meantime, our publication greatly contributed
to the development of the Japanese sewing machine industry, and
the name of our magazine was spread out to the sewing machine
industry in the world.
Beyond fifty years, the actual results of our experience
obtained thick trust from household and industrial sewing machinery
industry in the world.
We changed the name from "Japan Sewing Machine Trade News"
to "SewTradeTM" since August 2003 issue, and we
are aiming at the even more global magazine from now on.
